NEWS RELEASE: Raleigh-Based Agency Brandism Merges With LIFT; Jamie Cobb Named Chief Creative Strategist And Partner
LIFT, a healthcare research, design, and marketing communications firm serving the consumer healthcare and life science spaces, announced today its planned merger with Brandism, a life science focused branding and marketing agency in Raleigh, NC. The deal expands and strengthens LIFT’s life science experience and capabilities and establishes a new presence for the agency in the Research Triangle—one of the nation’s fastest growing hubs for life science development and innovation.
Founded in 2016, Brandism is a biopharmaceutical branding agency specializing in helping clients uncover authentic principle- and purpose-driven brand stories through collaboration and co-creation. The agency has served a variety of clients in the life science space, including Argos Therapeutics, Asuragen, Duke Clinical Research Institute, and Johnson & Johnson. As part of the merger, Brandism founder Jamie Cobb has been named chief creative strategist and partner of the newly combined organization—operating as LIFT—and will lead creative services for the organization going forward.
“To make a meaningful impact in today’s industry climate, it’s critical to embrace and champion the patient voice in a way that is equal parts art and science,” Cobb said. “By joining forces with LIFT, we are now bringing to market a truly unique offering backed by the tools and expertise needed to unearth the real-world qualitative evidence and insights necessary to create relevant, differentiated, and truly human-centric life science brands and brand experiences.”
Cobb comes to LIFT with more than 30 years of experience as a creative director and brand strategist specializing in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Prior to founding Brandism in 2016, he served as partner and creative brand strategist at Epic Brand Group, partner and chief creative officer at Micromass Communications, and senior vice president, director of global integration at GSW Worldwide. He also is an adjunct professor of advertising copy and communication at the UNC School of Media and Journalism in Chapel Hill.
“Jamie brings tremendous value to our organization, both as a seasoned agency professional and forward-thinking entrepreneur who exhibits equal parts passion and relentless curiosity,” said David McDonald, founder and chief executive officer of LIFT. “In merging our companies and further refining our collective offerings, we are better positioned to bring to market distinctly human-centric solutions with the potential to affect meaningful and positive change in how life science brands market to consumers.”
LIFT is an independent healthcare research, design, and marketing communications firm serving the consumer healthcare and life science spaces.
